Vidya Balan has created a lot of buzz with her glamorous outing in the promo of The Dirty Picture. And though the actor has gone all out to play her part perfectly, its taken a toll on her health too. So much so that Vidya had to be hospitalised for a few days, around Dussehra, at लीलावती hospital, Bandra, due to exertion. Vidya plays the lead role in the biopic on the life of southern siren Silk Smitha.
“Vidya worked very hard for her part, and ended up exerting herself. As a result, she lost her appetite. Her hemoglobin levels too dropped considerably. That’s why her parents decided to get her admitted at Lilavati because she doesn’t rest at home,” says a source.
When contacted, a representative of Lilavati too confirms: “Yes, Vidya was admitted for a couple of days, but it wasn’t very serious. We discharged her after making sure she was fine.” Now, Vidya’s parents are making sure that she takes enough rest and spends time with her niece and nephew.
Produced by Ekta Kapoor, The Dirty Picture also stars Naseeruddin Shah, Tusshar Kapoor and Emraan Hashmi. The film has been shot at Ramoji Rao’s studio in Hyderabad and is set to release on December 2.
