Veena Malik Plays Sex Worker In Zindagi 50-50

Veena Malik, who is this time in Mumbai for a very secret project, is uncharacteristically tight lipped. After all the controversial activities on Bigg Boss and shooting an item song for a film, Veena has bagged the biographical role a sex worker from Mumbai named Madhuri who has been moonlighting as a sex worker for years to support her family. The actress has been in Mumbai very quietly meeting sex workers; particularly Madhuri on whom her character in a film called Zindagi 50-50 is based.

Veena has been visiting Mumbai to prepare and shoot for her part. "Main sach boloon aapko? This film has changed my life and my attitude to women and sex workers in particular. When director Sanjay Ruia came to me, he wanted me to play another role in Zindagi 50-50. I insisted on playing Madhuri. Koi connect hai. Koi link…I don't know what it was. But I instantly empathized with Madhuri's responsibilities towards her large family. Maybe because I come from a family of five daughters and one son. But I understand what it feels like to be a woman in a male-dominated society. I've always supported myself, been on my own."

Veena spent hours with Madhuri, got to know about her dual life. "In the daytime, she's a normal middleclass girl. In the night, she puts on her burqa and goes to work in the red-light area, just like any normal working-girl. I loved the dignity that Madhuri brings to her life and her work. I hope I am able to convey the same dignity in my performance."

The role has encouraged Veena to work towards the betterment of the lives of sex workers. "We've rules, laws, organizations and activists fighting for animal welfare. But who cares about the sex workers? I am appalled by the way they live in the red-light areas, not just in India but across Asia. These women deserve a much better life."

Sonam Kapoor Fires Back At Ranbir Kapoor And Abhay Deol!!

Looks like Sonam Kapoor is yet to settle scores with Ranbir Kapoor and Abhay Deol.
In one of the chat shows, the actress openly said that she did not find Ranbir Kapoor sexy. To this, Ranbir recently replied, “I didn’t feel that bad. I know Sonam since childhood and I will always be fond of her. She is a bit of a drama queen but I like her. If she doesn’t find me sexy it is okay, she has the courage to say that on a public platform.”
The fact that RK called Sonam a “drama queen”, did not go down well with the actress. She immediately got back at Ranbir saying, “I am an actress, darling. If I don’t do drama, who else will? It’s good to be a drama queen. Most of the biggest actresses have done a lot of drama.”
Now, coming to Abhay Deol, the spat between Sonam, Abhay and Anil Kapoor, during the shooting of Aisha is very well known to all. In an interview with a magazine, when Sonam was asked who her favourite co-star till date was, Sonam sarcastically, replied Abhay is the best actor she has worked with!

Kareena And I Get Along Really Well: Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone speaks about her current equation with both the Kapoor cousins - Kareena and Ranbir.

The Kapoor cousins - Kareena and Ranbir, both of whom are ruling the roost, are often responsible for getting Deepika Padukone in news, though they certainly might not have intended so. And the regular rumour we keep hearing about them is that Deepika and Ranbir will come together for a film and Deepika and Kareena don't get along because of her onscreen chemistry with Saif.

Ask Deepika about stories that her onscreen chemistry with Saif Ali Khan gave Kareena Kapoor sleepless nights and she laughs off saying, "I' am on very good terms with Kareena. So it's quite embarrassing when people assume things that are not true. Kareena came to London and Hyderabad to spend some time with Saif while we were shooting for Aarakshan and we got along really well. So we do feel awkward when people write things unnecessarily".

Having said that, Deepika adds, "Its always fun working with Saif. We have had a hit film together in Love Aaj Kal which did really well. People enjoyed watching us together so its nice people want to see us again as an onscreen couple". Other than Aarakshan, Saif and Deepika will also be seen together in another film tentatively titled Cocktail which is written by Imtiaz Ali and directed by Homi Adajania.

Coming to the other Kapoor sibling and her ex-flame Ranbir Kapoor; are they or aren't they doing a film together? "The Ayan Mukherji film, as reported in the media, hasn't come to me yet. So what do I say on that". Reportedly Ayan Mukerji roped in Deepika Padukone opposite Ranbir Kapoor for his film when his first choice Katrina Kaif walked out of the project. However Deepika insists nothing of that sort happened.

But is she willing to work with Ranbir at the first place? "Yes, of course. I believe we work very well as an onscreen couple and if anything interesting comes up, I would love to do a film with him".

Rishi, Ranbir Kapoor In Wake Up Sid sequel

Before they team up with the Bachchan men in Nikhil Advani's next film, father-son duo will star together in the Ayaan Mukerjee project

Before Bollywood's first family's father and son share screen space with the Bachchan men, Rishi and Ranbir Kapoor have finally settled on a project for their first ever silver-screen collaboration. And it seems that Ranbir's good friend and director Ayaan Mukerjee has given the father and son the perfect platform in his sequel to Wake Up Sid.

Reportedly, Ranbir always wanted to star alongside his father in a home production. However, RK Films has not been able to kick start their operations since 1999. And so, Rishi and Ranbir, who have been approached to star together in several films, have finally decided that Ayaan's film is the one.

A source informed that Rishi will essay the antagonist in the film.

When contacted, Rishi Kapoor told Mumbai Mirror, "I am not denying Ranbir and I are coming together in a film that is a sequel to one of his films.

Ranbir and I've had innumerable offers to star together. But nothing really seemed to fit, until this. Both Ranbir and I are very excited about it. All I can tell you at the moment is audiences who are waiting to see us together won't be disappointed."

And even before the film goes on floors, audiences will have a preview of the father-son on-screen chemistry.

Rishi and Ranbir had just shot for an ad that was also directed by Ayaan. "Frankly I was more nervous than even Ranbir because the ad's concept demanded me to behave like a typical, stern, disapproving father.

Now, in real life I've never needed to disapprove of anything that Ranbir has done. And I've hardly played that kind of 'Yeh nahin ho sakta, tum aisa nahin kar sakte,' kind of bellowing father," added Rishi.

I Am A Good Kisser: Ranbir Kapoor

After dropping the towel in Saawariya, Ranbir Kapoor seems to have dropped every possible inhibition about kissing onscreen too.

Be it kissing Minissha Lamba, Deepika Padukone and Bipasha Basu in Bachna Ae Haseeno, Sarah Thompson in Raajneeti, Priyanka Chopra in Anjaana Anjaani or Nargis Fakhri in his forthcoming film Rockstar...Ranbir Kapoor is giving tough competition to Bollywood's original serial kisser Emraan Hashmi.

So does the lover boy enjoys re-takes or does he get it right the first time itself?

"Kissing onscreen is extremely technical! You have to see if the light is coming right, if your face is in the right position for the camera...besides there are so many people around! I am an actor and it's a part of my acting. I also don't usually need retakes. I am a good kisser" said Ranbir with a wink and trademark boyish charm.

Esha Goes On A Macro Biotic Diet For TMOK

Bollywood actor Esha Deol has gone full throttle for her upcoming film TELL ME O KKHUDA. Besides her role, her acting Esha has also worked hard on her looks by following a very special diet. The dainty actress reveals that she went on a macro biotic diet for the film.

"For the first time I went on a macro biotic diet it's all organic food. A complete vegetarian diet. Shonali, my dietician suggested about it. She used some special oils, rock salt instead of normal salt. Then she gave me miso soup, pizzas but all organic. My sister and me both did it. It really helps you lose weight. It cleanses your skin and you also feel lighter," says Esha.

Further about her styling in the film, Esha says she did a lot of look test. In fact mom (Hema Malini) wanted Esha to have an entirely different look in the film. Says Esha, "Mom was keen that I have wavy hair in the film. She hates my straight chapat hair."

Esha, who has been training with Satyajeet Chaurasia (who is a trainer to many Bollywood stars), followed a disciplined workout schedule. "I have been training with Satyajeet Chaurasia for the past ten years. He used to make me do cardio. I also did aggressive workout for the film," Esha says.

Looking at Esha's dedication, it seems the hard work will definitely be paid off once the film releases on 27th October 2011.

1984 Riots: ‘Why Nobody noticed Amitabh Bachchan Spewing Venom In India’

A prime witness in 1984 anti-Sikh riots said that everyone who had been watching Doordarshan saw how superstar Amitabh Bachchan provoked the rioters.

"I wonder why no one in India lodged case against Amitabh Bachchan for provoking killing of Sikhs," said Jagdish Kaur, prime witness in 1984 anti- Sikh riots while talking to TOI on Thursday.

Following Prime Minister Indira Gandhi's assassination by her Sikh bodyguards Satwant Singh and Beant Singh, India erupted in riots against Sikhs in 1984. Reminiscing the sad memories of hate crime against Sikhs she said, "I watched live relay on Doordarshan and saw Amitabh Bachchan raising his arm and shouting the slogan, 'khun ka badla khun sae laengae' (Blood for blood) two times. "

Jagdish Kaur said that everyone who had been watching Doordarshan was witness to how the bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan provoked the anti- Sikh riots. "I am not concerned that a case has been registered against him in Australia but all I want to know why nobody noticed Amitabh's provoking statement in India," Kaur asked. She said that ever since she saw Amitabh spewing venom in full public glare she never watched any of his movies or programmes on TV. "Any mention of him or his work reminds me of his role in the 1984 riots," she said.

Recently a US-based Sikh human rights group lodged a criminal complaint against Bachchan in Australia for instigating and abetting 1984 anti Sikh riots. Australia's 'Criminal Code Act 1995' states that Australian courts can have jurisdiction over cases involving crimes against humanity irrespective of whether the offense was committed in Australia or not.

Jagdish Kaur, then 42, had seen her husband and son being murdered in cold blood by a frenzied mob inside her house in Palam Colony (West Delhi) on November 1st 1984. She also saw her three brothers Narinder Pal Singh, 35, Raghwinder Singh, 28 and Kuldeep Singh ,21, all contractors with MES, burning to death by the mob while they were trying to save themselves.

Salman Khan Sacks Dabangg Team

Dabangg might have been a winner for the brothers Khan - Arbaaz and Salman, but the producer and the lead actor seem to be in no mood to retain the winning team.
After director Abhinav Kashyap left the Khans, the technicians have now been asked to follow him. Khan brothers have decided to work with a completely new team in Dabangg 2 that goes on floors in March 2012.

A source revealed, "The earlier plan was to retain the entire cast and crew barring of course Abhinav Kashyap who had already opted out of the sequel. Dileep Shukla was roped in to write Dabangg 2. As the script developed, Arbaaz Khan realised that he'll have to work within a new setup and with an entirely new set of man-power for the film."

On the other hand, most of the technicians who worked on Dabangg have opted to work with Abhinav on his next film, a Shah Rukh Khan starrer set in Australia, claimed the source.

When contacted, Arbaaz admitted that there has been a total makeover in the sequel as far as the technicians are concerned. He added, "Why are people presuming that I'd have to depend on creative resources from the first Dabangg to make Dabangg 2? I've been born into a film family. I grew up hearing scripts and people talking cinema. I know enough about cinema to turn director confidently. It's true we don't have the original crew on board. We've hired a first-rate group of fresh technicians for Dabangg 2."

"We know what we're doing. It's Dileep Shukla who has written the sequel. But it is my vision and ideas that have been put into the screenplay. I know exactly how I want to shoot the film. The novelty of seeing Salman playing Chulbul Pandey with a moustache has worn off. We'll be going beyond," said Arbaaz.

Salman Calls Aamir Khan For A Favour

The much-awaited release of Dhoom 3 has been postponed from Christmas 2012 to 2013. Though Yash Raj Films has cited production and post production processes as the reason for this three month shift, industry sources have a different story to tell.

The film has been pushed back to accommodate Salman Khan's Dabangg 2, claim sources. And, it seems, the actor's good friend and Dhoom 3 actor Aamir Khan is the one who convinced Yash Raj to change the dates.

A source informed Mumbai Mirror, "While pre and post-production could be one of the reasons for the delay, these are processes that can be accommodated as per the film's requirement. It was Salman's phone call to Aamir that made YRF shift the dates."

Reportedly, it was Salman who had asked Yash Raj Films to postpone the release of his film Ek Tha Tiger from June 1 to Eid simply because Aamir wanted his Reema Kagti directed project to release on that date.

When Salman heard about Dhoom 3 releasing on December 25, the date that Arbaaz Khan wanted for Dabangg 2 that goes on floors in March 2012, Sallu called Aamir, informed a source.

"Aamir and Salman have been in touch over the phone. Despite Salman being in Dublin for the Ek Tha Tiger shoot, they do exchange notes on phone for at least few minutes every second or third day," said the source.

"Feeling something wasn't right, Aamir asked Salman what was wrong. Salman said that he was worried about the release of his second film in 2012. Aamir till then was not aware of Dabangg 2 schedule being pre-poned to March 2012," said the source. Salman, it seems, informed Aamir about the change in the film's schedule.

The source further revealed, "Salman told Aamir that he wished to release Dabangg 2 on Christmas. However, since Dhoom 3 was scheduled for release on the same day, Salman believed it wouldn't be wise to pit the two films against each other."

According to the source, since one good turn deserves another, Aamir immediately agreed to try and shift the release of Dhoom 3. He told Salman that he would look into the matter. "Aamir prevailed over YRF and they agreed to postpone Dhoom 3," said the source.
