FRK Is Shah Rukh Khan's Craziest Fan!

Farooque Khan or FRK comes from a family obsessed with Shah Rukh Khan. The family is so gaga over the superstar that Farooque's sister was even named Shah Rukh Khan.

Farooque is the name given to the young girl by her father, but her friends lovingly call her FRK.

Born and brought up in Panchgani, Farooque will feature in UTV Stars' "Live My Life".

She even left her job to meet the actor and live his life for a day for the TV show. But guess what - King Khan offered her a job in his own company!

"Farooque left her job to come and shoot for the show and when she met SRK, she said that she was fired. So he made a proposal to her boss asking him to hire her back, or else he will get her a job in his own company," said a source from the sets.

The episode featuring Farooque will be aired Saturday.

SRK Loses His Cool At RA.One Team

Shah Rukh Khan's opus RA.One is just ten days away from release and the digital intermediation (finishing process of a feature film with a heavy dose of animation in it) is far from the finishing line. And that's what is worrying the King Khan in the middle of his promotional blitzkrieg.

According to a source, Khan on his recent visit to the office where the digital conversion of the film is taking place, lost his cool and was seen giving a piece of his mind to director Anubhav Sinha and his team.

A source informed Mumbai Mirror, "The entire team of Ra.One is under a lot of pressure to complete the film. There are some minor fixes like colour correction left to be done. The film is set for a worldwide release on October 26, so they have to be really fast. Shah Rukh has been keeping a tab on all the post production activities and was very upset to know about this delay."

"Shah Rukh went to the post production and was angry with the team for not meeting the deadline. Anubhav Sinha, who was already in the studio had to face SRK's anger. Later, SRK also motivated them to finish work at the earliest," added the source.

While distributors at various parts of the world are waiting for the digital prints of the film to reach them, back home, the censor board is waiting to see the final print too. "The film has been given a provisional certificate by the censor board.

The team had to see the film in green background (croma) as the postproduction was not over. They still have to see the final copy as the certificate also needs a mention about the length of the film," informed the source.

When contacted, Anubhav Sinha said, "Yes, there are a lot of things happening in the postproduction activities. We all are working hard towards it. But everything is fine."

Vivek Oberoi Turns Producer And Wins Best Film Award At Busan

Actor Vivek Oberoi is a man of many dreams. He is a well known and respected actor with many fabulous roles to his credit and some excellent ones in his future. But as we said he is a many of many dreams and he has now stepped into producing movies. Dekh Indian Circus (aka Watch Indian Circus) follows the story of an impoverished couple who dream of one day being able to afford to take their children to watch the circus. Set against the backdrop of a corrupt local election, the film at its core is an often hilarious celebration of the human spirit. Commenting on the choice of script he said, “Watch Indian Circus is a true Indian film about Indians and the hardships they undergo. When the film came to me I felt that I needed to do my bit by getting it out for all to see and it was something that I believed in.” He adds, “Box office economics dictate that Bollywood has to provide for their massive domestic audiences that are usually looking for an escapist sort of world. So I think it’s only essential that the big studios shouldn’t avoid producing films on real issues.”
The film was screened at the 16th Busan Film Festival in Korea and won the Best Film Award from the some 300 or so odd number of films representing some 70 countries. And the icing on the cake is the fact that Watch Indian Circus is the first Indian film to win a top honor at the event which is considered as the ‘Cannes of Asia’. The screening was attended by Vivek and his lovely wife Priyanka.
On getting the news of the big win Vivek tweeted saying, “Never in our wildest dreams did we imagine that our first film, this little dream that all of us have dreamed together, would win the best film award! To see Korean and international audiences all together in one theatre, watching our film, laughing, crying and coming out with hope in their eyes and smiles on their faces was the most rewarding experience for our team.”

'Amitabh Has Made Inestimable Contribution To Global Cinema'

Congratulating legendary Indian actor Amitabh Bachchan on receiving an honorary Australian doctorate, the country's High Commissioner to India Peter Varghese said Thursday the Bollywood star has made an "inestimable contribution to global cinema".
Bachchan was Thursday awarded an honorary Australian doctorate by the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) for his outstanding contribution to creative industries over several decades.
"I congratulate Bachchan on his honorary doctorate from QUT, an important academic institution in my home city of Brisbane," Varghese said.
"Bachchan has made an inestimable contribution to global cinema and this prestigious award is a marker of the impact of his films in Australia," he added.
"I want to thank Bachchan for his enormous contribution to global cinema. In accepting this award he will encourage the important cultural conversation between India and Australia," Varghese added.
Bachchan was in Australia for director Baz Luhrman's latest production "The Great Gatsby" at Fox Studios in Sydney, alongside Leonardo Di Caprio, Tobey Maguire and Joel Edgerton.
"Bollywood's popularity in Australia is growing, moving from niche to mainstream. When Aamir Khan launched his film 'Peepli Live' to a packed audience at the 2010 Melbourne International Film Festival, it was clear Bollywood had captured Australia's imagination," Varghese added.
"The rise of Bollywood in Australia reflects the phenomenal growth that is taking place across the spectrum of the Australia-India relationship, from booming trade and investment to education links and two-way tourism.
"Quite simply, our countries are becoming more important to, and interested in, each other. And cultural ties are a critical element of the convergence," he added.
Varghese said they are soon staging a major festival in India next year, which will showcase contemporary Australian arts and culture.
Bachchan is the second person to receive the honour. Infosys Technologies chief mentor Narayana Murthy was the first.
Bachchan was to receive the doctorate in 2009, but declined due to attacks on Indian students in Victoria.

‘Salman Is And Will Be There For Me’, Says Katrina

Post break-up, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif bond over great time. They are having a ball in Dublin during the shooting of ‘Ek Tha Tiger’. Though Salman is no longer Kat’s beau, they are always there for one another. Katrina said, “When did we become enemies? Salman is and will be there for me.”
In Dublin, Salman is looking after the comfort and discomfort of his lady and make sure that Katrina might not face any problem. A source reveals, “Katrina was apprehensive about how Salman would behave on their first film together after the break-up. He has always been unpredictable. But he`s been looking after her, making sure she`s comfortable. He has been protective towards Katrina.”

“It`s obvious they are in a happy place,” the source added.

Along with work, they are having lots of fun in Dublin, “They are having a ball together, and they deserve it. It`s been a stressful time for both. For Salman, on the health front, and for her, because she`s overworked. We are shooting nights here in Dublin, and that`s tough for Katrina, but great for Salman. He is a `night person`,” said the source.

There is a great possibility that the two have a fresh start.
